Reviews of Westwood Church
"My husband and I started attending back in the early spring and have loved it ever since. We had searched and searched for a church for about 9 months prior. In each church we requested small group information and ways to get connected but never received information or was contacted until we did at Westwood. It is a loving church with a strong focus on the scriptures. The leadership is very genuine and care deeply for the congregation and the local community. The leadership actually prays for the members of the church and the community. The church has a positive vibe. It has people of all ages so no one will be out of place. It is a more contemporary service with a worship band and the preaching is coming straight from the bible. We have received a lot of love and support from our church and small group members. We have found our church home at Westwood, have made several friendships, and continue to be fed at Westwood. We genuinely love our church."
"Not recommended. It surprises me that they never tell people how to go to heaven. There's never an invitation. Long time former members loudly warned me about those running the church. Others came up to me in a restaurant and suggested going elsewhere as they had done. They quickly walked away. A 3rd former member I met said they were very happy elsewhere & they left Westwood not long, after a group of leaders went to California Saddleback church. The group was so excited after their trip that they changed many things at Westwood. The former member laughed when I told him who was in leadership at Westwood. Anyone considering attending here 1) Carefully read the membership covenant. You'll not only be absolutely shocked any Christian would sign it but also know how this place is run. I think you'll have an aha moment as well as head for an exit door. If you get nothing more out of this review than this point then great. The Bible tells us not to make covenants to begin with and this one is a good example of one never to sign. 2) Listen to 5-10 of their on-line sermons before attending here. 3) Discover scripture they avoid. 4.) Memorize 2nd Corinthians 11:14, 15 5) Review 20 years of financial documents. Where has the spending not gone. 6) Read Jude. 7) They are using and selling the ESV. Modern translations want to make Jesus out to be a sinner."
"Pastor Dave is an amazing godly man. He is humble and just teaches the Word of God accurately. The people are super friendly and loving. Great church!!"
"A wonderful place to worship. The pastor's way of guiding through the good book in his sermons is wonderful and his enthusiasm is far beyond what you would expect in his approach and his love of what he does. Thank you and thank you to all the warm welcoming faces. This is not an opposing crowd should anyone be looking to feel out their own journey or find a home of worship"
"I was really intrigued by the other reviews on this page, but my experience was much different. I no longer go to Westwood because of my change in occupation, but I have gained many deep and genuine friendships from going here. I have been greatly blessed with the emphasis of continual discipleship and fellowship between church members and attendees throughout the week. I really felt like I was part of a family when I went here. I was able to be transparent with my sin issues and did not feel condemned, but gently restored. I would hope that people would give Westwood a try and make an effort to know the elders and pastor. This church is also listed on 9marks church finder map as being a good church that they validate. It's worth your time."
