"First interview with both myself and my wife. Doctor was very thorough and approached our individual issues in an organized efficient manner. Doctor excelled in communication abilities."
"Dr Alexis was a poor doctor and PCM when he was working at the Department of Veterans Affairs. The VA is a complex system with veterans being bounced around between different individuals and departments for care. Dr Alexis took a summery action against a veteran for voicing frustrations to staff regarding a different department that had canceled a long waited appointment the veteran had been waiting based on an error of internal communication within the VA itself. The issue at hand was a PCP appointment that was canceled by a unrelated VA department. The veterans medical records show a message from the community care team to the Evansville PCP office asking to reach out to the veteran and see if he still needed community care PCP appointment since community care had been scheduled but the veteran decided to stay within the VA PCP system. The veterans own records show that he had reached out to the community care team prior and notified community care he was not using the community care PCP. The MSA did not do as the instructions asked from community care and canceled the PCP appointment thus pushing back the veteran to the longer community care appointment. When I questioned why community care was allowed to cancel a primary care appointment and why the instructions to the MSA said to "talk to the veteran to see if appointment was still needed" but those were not followed and the appointment was summary canceled. I said "well thats bull**** and someone in community care needs to lose their job. How can community care just cancel a PCP appointment?" The PCP MSA must have taken great offense to this and reported my conversation to the doctor who then sent a note that he was refusing to see the veteran while the veteran had been waiting for months to get into see the doctor regarding stoke level blood pressure that sent him to the ER over 5 times and ultimately ended with the veteran having a heart attack at age 41. This veteran is glad this MD is no longer at the VA as he was apart of the problem with quality care at the VA that promoted delay in veteran care, not understanding veteran culture, that hidden and canceled appointments at the VA are acceptable even if veteran health is at stake, that veterans may not advocate for themselves against a large system. Veterans will no longer tolerate doctors like Alexis and after they moved past the VA system without any recourse for poor veteran care, move on unscathed and shielded by the VA/Government system that has been setup and called VA healthcare and as such is the reason for this message, even if delayed. Please take a moment to google VA doctor news and issues and think about what doctors like Alexis did and how they treated veterans and decide if this is a person of integrity and one with whom you should trust as a PCP for your family."
"Great doctor! He’s a great listener and takes his time with explaining things. Just the best doctor!"
"I recently switched to Dr. Alexis. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a new doctor or making a switch for their primary care. He actually takes time to listen and he genuinely cares."
"Dr. Alexis was totally amazing. He talked WITH me, not at me. He was thorough. We discussed my medications as well as my multiple heath issues. He listened to what I had to say. He was efficient but did not make me feel like he was trying to rush me. He is genuinely interested in my health care. I feel so blessed to have found him as my pcp."
