Water Services

The City of Attica operates a robust water system featuring two wells and 18 miles of main and supply lines. Our elevated storage tank and reservoir each hold 500,000 gallons, meeting an average daily demand of over 525,000 gallons. Our certified operator, licensed by the State of Indiana, ensures the highest standards of water distribution and treatment. Water meters are read monthly around the 20th to ensure accurate billing.

Wastewater Services

Our wastewater utility serves the same number of units with a Class II, 665,000-gallon-per-day trickling filter treatment facility. Managed by a certified operator with a Class II wastewater certification, our system includes advanced treatment processes to maintain environmental compliance. Sewer charges are determined based on water consumption.

Trash and Recycling Services

In partnership with Trash Kans LLC, we provide efficient trash collection services. Trash pick-up is scheduled for Mondays or Tuesdays, depending on your location, and is included in your water utility service. Yard waste should be placed in biodegradable bags for collection. Recycling trailers provided by the Fountain County Solid Waste District are conveniently located on Mill Street for your use.

Street Maintenance and Other Services

Our Street Department maintains approximately 22 miles of public streets, ensuring safe and reliable infrastructure through paving, patching, and snow plowing. We also coordinate road improvements and maintain drainage systems.

Billing and Payments

Your utility bill is due on the 20th of each month. Late payments incur fees, and disconnection may occur if not settled by the 10th of the following month. We offer various payment methods, including debit and credit card options, with applicable charges. For any billing inquiries or to discuss payment extensions, please attend the Board of Works meetings held on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 5:00 pm.

Community Safety and Engagement

Stay informed with the Fountain County Regional Dispatch's monthly test of the Tornado Warning siren at 10:00 a.m. on the first Tuesday. For voter registration and other civic services, contact the Fountain County Courthouse.
