"New Revelations Missionary Baptist Church is a mid-sized church with traditional Southern Baptist values. Church leadership has had a long involvement with the local civil rights movement and maintains relations with the current local political structure. Church leadership also has a prison ministry that has been instrumental in getting some local people paroled as well as getting the sentence of one inmate commuted to life from what was a death sentence. Sunday School starts at 9:30 AM and church starts at 10:45 and generally lasts til 1:00 PM. A church bus is available for local transportation to the service. In-spite of its reputation, the City of Gary has several hundred churches and unless you live next door you will probably drive by at least a dozen churches to get to New Revelations; but it is well worth it."
