"Immanuel Lutheran Church in Terre Haute, Indiana, is a biblically founded, Gospel-centered congregation. If you are looking for a solid Terre Haute church, you will be greatly blessed by this congregation. The pastor is theologically sound and cares about his people."
"I am a Christian. Baptized several years ago currently here in Terre Haute as a travel nurse. I have been a member of a Lutheran Church in Nebraska but currently non denominational. A couple Sundays ago I went to New Life Church but found it was closed but I heard the bells of this Church ringing and decided it was Divine intervention and came over. The Church is lovely and old world. The sermon was good and had real life application. I took Communion. Everyone was friendly. This Sunday I came back. When it was time for Communion I being the only person. In that row and new was stopped and asked if I was a confirmed member of the Church( or Lutheran faith...not sure which it was) I said "No" and was told " then we cannot allow you to take communion" Wow! Where does it say in the Bible that one must be a member of a particular denomination in order to partake of the blood and body of Christ....nowhere! I've read the New Testament ..all of it several times. One must believe and profess that Christ is the son of the living God and died for our sins. Period! I wonder ...if Jesus had been physically standing their ...would they have refused me communion. What would Jesus say if they had. I doubt he would have been ok with. Oh!...guess what Jesus is present...everywhere. He was watching that man made exclusivity where one of his flock was turned away. Bad news!"
