About the Business
Welcome to Harvey City Hall, the heart of local governance located at 15320 Broadway Avenue, Harvey, Illinois 60426. As your dedicated city hall and local government office, we are committed to serving the needs of our community with transparency and efficiency.
Important Updates:
154th Street Improvement Project:
Starting July 8, 2024, we will embark on the 154th Street Improvement Project, a significant infrastructure initiative aimed at enhancing the quality and safety of our roads. This project involves the complete reconstruction of 154th Street from Wood Street to Broadway, necessitating a FULL STREET CLOSURE for both motorists and pedestrians until November 2024. While we understand this may cause temporary inconvenience, the result will be a smoother, safer, and more reliable roadway with new curbs, freshly laid gutters, and an end to potholes. We encourage residents and businesses to plan alternate routes in advance. During this period, 153rd Street will temporarily become a two-way street running east and west between Wood Street and Broadway Avenue. Additionally, several other streets, including Center Avenue, Turlington Avenue, and others, will also operate as two-way streets. Your patience and cooperation are greatly appreciated as we work to improve the infrastructure and move the City of Harvey forward.
Opportunities for Young Entrepreneurs:
Attention Harvey residents aged 14-26! We are excited to offer an Entrepreneurship Training Program designed to equip you with the skills necessary to start and maintain your own business. Join us in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in our community.
Property Tax Information:
Cook County property tax bills are now in the mail. Please note that partial payments are accepted, and you have until October 1 to pay your second installment. We encourage you to take advantage of this extended deadline to manage your payments effectively.
At Harvey City Hall, we are dedicated to supporting our community through effective governance and by providing essential services and opportunities. Thank you for your continued trust and engagement with your local government.

"The mayor assistant is the only one who answers the phone. Everyone else including the clerk and the Public Works never answer the phone or clear voicemail the five stars is for that lady alone every other department gets negative 19 Stars."
"The water company sneaky as hell turned my water off at 9 before I could even go to water building than turn around and charged you 115 to turn it back on ....I guess scamming in Harvey didn't stop just got more uniformed ....115 to turn my water on while I got kids in my house gave me a due date and 9am on due date turn of your water so they can take every penny from the lower class. Damn"
"I purchased a property in Harvey in 2012 they gave me a really hard time with getting permits the runaround my permits expired because gones were constantly walking through asking what I was doing there when I'm trying to fix the place up the city fined me 6000 for whatever they wanted to put on paper, squatters can live in the property but I can't they are keeping thier own people down its sad and I went through a lot trying to maintain something I spent my hard earned money on and cannot posses my property without the city making up reasons to fines or sending thier goons to Harrass even the cops constantly Harrassing me thing I'm turning tricks they jumped out with guns drawn on me but the drug dealers and drunks could sit and loot all they want ,it was a dream of mine to have my own house but the city of Harvey and thier snotty office crew killed it ..I told the judge what was going on nothing was said but pay what you owe..I told the judge that she could have the property since I can't afford thier fines..it's a shame how they intimidate and Harrassing people that's willing to put their money up to fix up these abandoned houses but its all a dream in Harvey they simply don't want it better there its all a gimmick with these people,I tried to talk to the mayor they told me that I have to be a resident to do so ..if I own property there I should get a pass right??guns were drawn on me twice neighbor's called and said that I was living in the property in which it was abandoned with squatters living in it when I purchased it ,they rather have drug using squatters than property owners trying to improve the neighborhood its sad and I gave up on something I spent hard earned money on.also the Mexicans gets the respect and properties they choose with no problems or Harrassment. The inspectors are rude and belligerent quick to pulling thier weapons on people when they came to inspect it was a terrible experience for me , if you thinking of purchasing the cheap property in This City ..don't its not worth the constant Harrassment from the city and people that work with or for them to intimidate and Harrassing new buyers into Hella fines..the black ones anyway, but they will accept your money for the bull."
"Avoid if possible. Terrible history, not in a good location around Chicago, & the current Mayor Christopher Clark is being called a dictator by many of the residents."
"I was born and raised in Harvey, and it's been sad to watch they way Harvey was multilated from both within, and without. Having had first hand experience working for the City of Harvery, it's a hot mess, and their water department, which could be making the citty millions, is instead a model of inefficency. It makes me sad, it was such a nice place to live."
