Founded by the passionate and talented Ms. Key, Lenore's Kitchen began as a heartfelt venture in the Englewood community, inspired by the vibrant family gatherings of her childhood. With a rich legacy of culinary expertise passed down from her mother, grandmother, and great-aunts, Ms. Key honed her skills during college, cooking for her neighborhood and organizing events for her social club.

Our journey started as a home-based business, quickly expanding to a commercial kitchen within a church, and eventually blossoming into our facility that opened to the public in the early 2000s. Though our restaurant doors closed in 2004, our dedication to serving soul food with love and respect has never wavered.

Today, Lenore's Kitchen Catering proudly serves a diverse clientele, including corporations, government offices, schools, and churches. Our commitment to the community is unwavering, as demonstrated by Ms. Key's founding of The Key Works Association, a non-profit offering culinary training and job placement for underprivileged youth and others in need.

Ms. Key is a distinguished member of the International Caterer’s Association and the Top Ladies of Distinction Will County Black Diamond Chapter. She actively contributes to the community through her roles at St. John M.B. Church and her leadership in various organizations.

In 2022, Ms. Key expanded her vision with the opening of Gallery LKC, an upscale art gallery and event space on Chicago's south side, further enriching the cultural landscape of the area.
