"I set up this detailing appointment for my significant other as a birthday gift, intending to pay primarily with gift cards he and I have amassed over the time my family has used Koal’s (a few years). I brought this up at the time of booking, but Shane told me he does not honor gift cards that are more than a year old. My SO got into contact with him to inform him that this policy is illegal following the Card Act of 2009, which protects the value of gift cards and gift certificates. Reluctantly, Shane agreed to accept the gift cards. The evening before the appointment was scheduled, Shane called me to push back my appointment (from 8am to 11:30am, which I had no issue with). 11:30 came and went. I called him at noon and was informed he wasn’t in the area yet. He didn’t show up until 2pm. The detail was fine. I have attached some photos. The outside of the car was gorgeous. When Shane was done, he called me outside to inspect the car. I looked it over and asked to see the trunk (it had been dirty before and I was excited to see it all spruced up), to which I got a vacant stare. He then proceeded to vacuum out the trunk, and nothing else immediately caught my eye that he missed. Under closer inspection, however, the windshield has streaks, the interior cup holders weren’t cleaned (not even touched), and the area that is covered by the trunk when it is closed wasn’t touched. There were also other signs that the job wasn’t thorough, like dust and other debris left in the car following the service. Like I mentioned above, my family has used Koal’s for several years, and I know he is capable of doing great work. I was so excited to get this for my significant other, but I am left with a bad taste in my mouth. I know it is my fault for not noticing the things that were overlooked at the time of service, but I am extremely disappointed to have paid $300 for the quality that was delivered."
