"Lovely historic library & located across from Rodney Square. The actual book shelf area is pretty small because there are larger spaces dedicated to events / meeting / computer seating area. They do host a lot of interesting events, and have the longwood garden group pass to check out with your library card."
"Spotless, calm, and a lot of material to engage. From an enormous magazine and paper determination to immediate, proficient assistance tracking down books, and enough PCs to get right on as opposed to pausing. The PC region has a professional/work help lab, printers, and a 3D printer! The PC room staff are congenial, and consistently on the money. Genuine experts, all of them. The Flow work area in the front generally takes care of business. however, they're unapproachable, causing me to feel like they're hurrying to return to something more significant."
"I think that the Wilmington library should have someone station at the front door as early as 2 hours before the event to insure that people are not cutting the line of people whom were siting andwaiting for the event to start by people who just walk up and cut in line with a friend or family member whom is already in line.Anyone that arrived in line before the event time to ensure they get a set should all be given a laminated number with a Wilmington Library stamp on it, and given to the first come people who ate in line. if there is anyone that don't have a number they will go to the back of the line. one number per person. This will stop the unfairness to people who stand in line the whole honored the first come first serve policy instead of being turned away because people cut in line. Thank your for your time and and attention to this matter G. Chase"
"I am greatly disappointed to share that my experience with this library has been profoundly unsatisfactory. The purpose of a library, as I understand it, is to create a conducive environment for reading, learning, and social interaction. However, this establishment seems to have deviated significantly from this ideal. To start with, the dearth of seating areas is a glaring issue. A library ought to offer a comfortable space where visitors can sit down and lose themselves in a good book. Unfortunately, this basic requirement seems to have been overlooked, making it nearly impossible for patrons to spend any significant amount of time engrossed in reading. Moreover, the restricted access to the youth section strikes me as a puzzling policy. While I comprehend the need for safety and targeted environments, the rule barring adults without accompanying children seems unnecessarily exclusionary. The result is that the space feels more like a segregated club rather than a welcoming institution promoting literacy for all age groups. Most alarmingly, the facility appears to have turned into an unofficial daytime sanctuary for the homeless community. While it's crucial to provide support for the homeless, the co-opting of a public space intended for learning and engagement for a different purpose altogether is not the solution. This raises serious questions about the management and regulation of the library. The odorous ambiance is another area of concern, one that will likely deter visitors. The library is filled with an unpleasant smell that, unfortunately, is hard to shake off even after leaving the premises. Cleanliness and maintenance, which should be a priority in any public institution, seem to be severely lacking here. On the whole, my experience with this library has been a disheartening one. Libraries should be a beacon of knowledge, a place where people of all walks of life can come together to learn and engage. This establishment, sadly, fails on almost all counts. A swift and comprehensive overhaul of its policies and facilities is the need of the hour to restore its status as a true library."
"This is my first time at this library. I'm new to the state and new to everything in Wilmington I was glad to find it. I love having a quiet space to go to process things. I need to have that actually I don't even know what all this library offers I hope to find out more in the future but so far I'm very impressed it's huge, it's gorgeous, very organized, very quiet, very efficient for others. I am a fan already and it's my first day. I also did see about the workshops I haven't done any yet but that's awesome just the fact they have a bunch of different workshops and stuff for education and much more. Keep up the great work! So far you guys seem to be doing a wonderful job."
