About the Business
Welcome to the Sally Stretch Keen Memorial Library, a vibrant community hub nestled in the heart of Southampton Township, New Jersey. Located at 94 Main Street, our library is dedicated to fostering a love for reading and learning among all age groups. Whether you're a curious toddler, an adventurous child, or an avid adult reader, we offer a plethora of engaging programs and resources to inspire your imagination.
Our Children's Library is a bustling center of creativity and fun, where young minds can explore new worlds through our regular story hours and creative art projects. Recently, our summer wrap-up event saw young artists creating imaginative animals using collage techniques inspired by Carla Sonheim’s Kids Art Week. We invite all children and their families to join us for these enriching activities, which include story hours, art projects, and even a championship chess tournament!
For those looking to enjoy the last lazy days of summer, we have a diverse collection of fiction and non-fiction books perfect for lounging with a good read. Our Keen Readers book club meets monthly to dive into enthralling stories, with this month's selection being "All the Colors of the Dark" by Chris Whitaker. New members are always welcome to join the lively discussions.
Don't miss our special community events, such as the annual Frog Jump contest and our end-of-month fundraiser at the Red Top Market, featuring exciting raffle baskets and prizes. Our library is also undergoing beautiful brickwork renovations, thanks to the generosity of our patrons.
Whether you're here to borrow a book, participate in a program, or simply enjoy our welcoming atmosphere, the Sally Stretch Keen Memorial Library is your gateway to discovery and community connection. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Reviews
"This library is truly a piece of history. Plus...ITS A LIBRARY! Connected to the Burlington county library system and all. It is one of the institutions that make Vincentown feel like a place of community and history."
"Such an adorable place! My son loved Ms Kim and her adorable dog/library greeter Macy. It feels like stepping back in time and adorably cozy and homey. We can’t wait to come back."
"We love Ms. Pew and Ms. Gwen at the Children's Library. They make every trip to the library the best for my kids. They are very kind and friendly and always make everyone who visits feel special. My children ask frequently to visit as it's always a positive experience for them when they go."
"Visited this library for the first time. They called and let me know my hold on a book was ready. They were all standing outside in the heat with a cart and books in very nice brown paper bags. They were very nice. Thank you for all you have done to reopen in this crazy time."
"So I stopped in to find a quiet place to get some work done while waiting for an appointment a few miles down the road. Figured it'd be nice to spend a couple of hours at what appeared to be a quaint, small but comfortable library. Never. Again. Any expectation of quiet will likely lead to disappointment. Case in point: I'm writing this review while in the library and for the past half hour a woman with an infant has been here visiting another lady (possibly a staff member, I'm not quite sure). They were already here when I arrived so how long they'd been I cannot say. The baby is fine: quiet, content and cute as could be. The women, however, apparently decided that the public library was a fine place to have a prolonged--and loud--conversation, complete with lots of cooing and baby-talk. Of the three only the baby was polite enough to conduct itself appropriately for a library. I can't help but wonder if this sort of thing is common practice since the woman behind the desk said NOTHING to either of them about quieting the hell down or perhaps finding a more appropriate place for their baby-centric escapade. EDIT: It's now been an hour or so since my initial post and we've all been joined by some woman and her not-so-tiny non-service dog. As I've quietly been trying to get some work done Fido has proceeded to wipe his wet nose on me numerous times, apparently trying to figure out what sort of cat I have at home. Meanwhile, his oblivious owner has been sitting at one of the library computers engaging in a phone call with some sort of tech support person and two minutes ago switched on her speaker-phone. She was nice enough to turn it off upon my request but c'mon, really? Phone calls in the library...on speaker-phone no less?!? And not a word from the librarian? WTF?!? Tell me, what point was it no longer considered rude to be loud and distracting in a library? When did it become acceptable to no only take your pets with you but allow them to roam the place at will? And worst of all, at what point should one expect the *$%&^@! librarian to do something about it? My first--and last--trip to the sorry excuse for a library and its rude clientele. 5-14-19"
