About the Business
Welcome to the Wildlife Management Area, a haven for nature enthusiasts located at 2978 Bybrook Drive, Lower Township, New Jersey. This remarkable park offers an immersive experience into the heart of Cape May's natural beauty, stretching across the tip of South New Jersey and along the Atlantic Flyway.
Discover the breathtaking landscapes of pristine beaches, bayshores, saltmarshes, and upland forests that make this area a global hotspot for migratory bird populations. Our five-mile stretch along the Delaware Bay serves as a crucial resting and feeding ground for hundreds of thousands of shorebirds each spring, making it the second most important shorebird staging area in North America.
While Two Mile Beach is closed to the public from April 1st to September 30th to protect shorebirds during critical feeding and nesting periods, visitors can still explore the open trails, bike paths, and Visitor Center of the Two Mile Beach Unit. Enjoy year-round wildlife viewing opportunities and witness species such as Kestrels, Woodcocks, Thrushes, Warblers, and the endangered Piping Plover.
Cape May National Wildlife Refuge is dedicated to the conservation and rehabilitation of threatened and endangered species. Our committed staff conducts various research programs and employs innovative habitat management techniques to ensure the sustainability of this vital ecosystem.
Open seven days a week and always fee-free, our refuge invites hikers, hunters, fishermen, photographers, and nature lovers to explore and connect with the great outdoors. We partner with volunteers, youth groups, and local communities to enhance habitat and expand access to green spaces.
Join us in our mission to conserve, protect, and enhance America’s natural heritage. Whether you're looking to volunteer, learn more about nature, or simply enjoy the tranquility of the outdoors, the Wildlife Management Area offers something for everyone. Visit us and be part of a lasting legacy of conservation and community engagement.

Reviews
"It’s a nice place for walking. Although there’s some trail markings by color there are a number of places where there’s split offs that don’t let you really know which trail you’re about to go on. I would’ve given it five stars if it had better trail markings. The lack of adequate trail markings is why some other reviews talk about getting lost there. Easily fixable."
"Good location. Nice area to walk around and fish."
"Great place to walk dogs."
"The park boasts a beautiful lake, which adds to the already stunning scenery. The lake is well-maintained and offers a range of activities for visitors, including fishing, walking around, watching ducks, feeding swans, listening nature."
"We visited the refuge for the first time this past weekend and really enjoyed it! We only walked the trail around the pond (blue trail) but it was very beautiful. We will certainly go back and explore more the next time we are in the area!"
