"I purchased a well worn cape on LBI in 2017. I had been a home improvement contractor in NY for many years. Acting as GC on raising and adding to the house I was at a disadvantage not knowing the best contractors to use. As it happens I met a worker from one of the top builders on LBI and he gave me Carvalho Construction Company's contact. In 2018 Phil Carvalho was hired to frame and sheath the house as well as install the windows and doors as his pricing and workmanship was very good. Building a complex frame using a preexisting structure invariably has unforeseen issues. Phil Carvalho was always responsive and available to help with necessary changes and not take advantage with inflated additional charges which many contractors do. As Carvalho Construction Company's original contract was finishing I gave Phil a chance to bid on roofing and siding as well. Once again Carvalho Construction was priced right and did an excellent job. With the savings on the exterior budget I was able to use higher end finishes for the interior.
