"I’ve been seeing Dr Malikel as my pcp for years. I mostly go to urgent care and only to Dr Malikel if I can’t get my asthma under control. Anyhow, about 2.5 years ago I went and seen him bc I started getting joint pain that was very uncomfortable, also I felt so tired ALL THE TIME, along with some other little things. He did basic lab work and then told me I was fat. Basically if I lost weight all my issues would go away. Well over the next couple of years I kept voicing to him that nothing was changing and that my joint pain among other things were getting worse. He again always just got me with the same line. Lose weight. Well fast forward to the last couple months where I finally ended up speaking to my Obgyn about it. He took me serious and got right to work. He did more than basic lab work and sent me to a rheumatologist. Within a couple of months I had tons of bloodwork and X-rays. I went back to my rheumatologist that finally had some answers for me. I have lupus, a blood clot autoimmune disorder, and my vitamin d is low. So all that to say, I will not be going back to Dr Malikel. I knew my body was off, I’m not just “fat”. If you see him and he isn’t doing much aside from the basics, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Get a different opinion. I should’ve done it sooner!!"
