He got my father through a cancer diagnosis and treatment 8 years ago and is always open to listening to you. I am rating him only as he is wonderful."

"I'll try and make this short and to the point. Front desk receptionist staff: vapid and rude. Physician's Assistant: vapid and rude. The doctor is simply too old to be practicing medicine. His cognitive skills are too slow, he cannot keep up with what you tell him, he does not recognize the names of diabetic meters, and makes mistakes with medicine -- both in recommending and writing prescriptions. I encountered the following issues with him: (1). he wrote in my file that I was on a low carbohydrate diet, I am not; (2) he seemed to object to me having my fiancee in the exam room with me -- too bad, my choice, he made some crack about it being a "family visit"; (3) I needed test supplies for my diabetic meter and I struggled a bit with the name but eventually got the name correct -- but he DID NOT RECOGNIZE IT even though it is the most popular one on the market and therefore I had to go through the hassle of calling his office back twice, and going to the pharmacy 2 or 3 times instead of once. Any other internist would have known this name. Although I explained to him that I wanted my urine tested thoroughly, which is important as I am a diabetic, he went "cheap" and only ran 2 tests which left off some important indicators such as the amount of protein in the urine. These tests should be run at routine intervals, they are not expensive and I specifically requested these tests, there was no good reason for him to have left them off. One of the medicines I take is very expensive and I asked to see if he had any samples, he said no, no one in Virtua ever gets any samples, then recommended 2 other medicines in the same class which I already knew were no good for me because of my CKD and low E-GFR scores. Also, I was taking a medicine which is composed of 3 different parts. It is cheaper to take them separately -- lets say $30 to $50 a month less, so I asked him to write the prescriptions that way. Well, one of the components was a simple medicine -- he forgot about that one and only wrote me scripts for 2 medicines -- the one he forgot about completely caused me 3 months of insomnia. I had blood work and tests done on about the first of January 2018; it took five phone calls and three weeks to finally get all of the results. This was my first experience with Virtua and it was horrible. After the doctor was finished, I was sent to another room, someone walked in, did not introduce herself and stood there throwing paper after paper at me. They waste WAY too much paper in there. This doctor is too old to be practicing and one of these days he is going to kill someone because of missing something or misdiagnosing something. He needs to be retired, plain and simple."
