"I signed a lease with 21st Century Self Srorage on 9/17/23. Some time this year they 21st Century Self Storage was aquired by Devon Self Storage. I recieved no notice. I was only informed about the acquisition in July, when I visited the location and requested to speak with a manager. At the time spoke with an employee named Carmen Morales. She told me "I was not allowed to make partial payments" and refusedmy payment. Telling me "the new company doesn't take partial payments so the new computer software won't allow it". I returned a few days later and was able to successfully make a partial payment with another employee. Since Devon Storage has taken over the facility the have preyed on customers using unethical practices/tactics and lack customer service skills. Some representatives do not acknowledge/greet arriving customers. I visited the location today. I spoke with a women named Alexis. I inquired about Carmen telling me the manager would call me only to be informed Carmen Morales was actually the general manager and had misled me. I requested the name of and a call from the the regional manager/ director Gavin Beier. I was assured by Alexis (who stated she was acting GM for the day) he would contact me shortly. He did not. While there I was told I now had a forced lease with Devon Self Storage, that was forged electronically. I requested a copy of the lease and proof customer notification. I was denied. I am extremely concerned that a company would forge a my signature on a document, locking customers out it they ar 5 days late, canceling insurance but billing customers for it, not charging curent rates to customers who exited prior to acquisition, refuse to take payment in an effort to force default and auction/steal customer's property and fail to communicate with customers upon request. I am currently being charged $311.00 a month for a unit that leases for $244.00."

"I used them for a few years. The staff is nice. The space did what it was supposed to do. Unfortunately, at one point mice entered my unit and got into some items I honestly didn't care about but hey, that's what insurance is for. They cleaned the unit out, set traps, & offered to move me somewhere else. Other than that the experience was ok- it was fine really.. but the prices continued to increase which is ultimately why I left."
