"Ever since about 1970, countless people have mistakenly referred to the BASEBALL FIELD at Davis & Copewood as "Whitman Park". IT ISN'T. The park-- at the center of the "Whitman Park" neighborhood is called "WHITMAN PARK". It's the one with the water tower. Yet, a few years ago, some IDIOT in the city put signs up claiming it's called "Whitman Square Park". I pointed one of the signs out to a longtime neighbor, who said to me, "THAT'S not what its CALLED!" So I know it's not me. I've tried to have the names fixed, but nobody will listen."
