Reviews of Deptford Strangers Hessian Cemetary
"Neat little cemetery."
"The Old Deptford Strangers Burial Ground is a story of mystery, fascination, and reverence to the dead. I personally find burial grounds both creepy and fascinating. After all, burial grounds or graveyards are the resting place of the dead. Most burial grounds are associated with a church or a religious affiliation. Strangers Burial Ground is quite the opposite. Relocated in 1854 from Woodbury, NJ this Burial Ground is the home of people who died without a religious affiliation or were traveling through the local area. It also is home to many Hessian Soldiers who died in the Battle of Red Bank were British Hessian Troops were defeated thanks to warning from local hero Jonas Cattell who is buried only .3 miles away in the Cattell Family Cemetery."
"Woowee..history..look around you will find it everywhere. The greatness of the people that have come before us is amazing."
