"I know Bulloch County Road Department Motorgrader Operations are stretched thin since they stopped using B.C C.I. Experienced Guards & Experienced Adjudicated Inmates to Grade the majority of the 700 miles of Dirt roads in Bulloch County. I heard that the roads are now graded in part or mostly by Private Contractors. *In my observations it appears the Guards and Inmates from B.C.C.I. did a much better and more frequent job of grading our many dirt roads. For Example: Near Kennedy Pond Rd., Tillman Pond Rd.,Robert Reed Rd.,& Robbins Rd. the roads during dry weather get no attention to speak of while they are washboarded and rutted beating our vehicles into rattletraps until the day of or day before a major rain front moves in.Then the graded road gets destroyed the same night or next day after they are graded and they stay that way until the day of or day before the next rain front moves in, which is sometimes several weeks or a month. Then the above gets repeated over and over. There has to be a better way as it once was before when B.C.C.I. did most of the dirt road grading in a timely manner. I know we in Bulloch County have probably the most dirt roads in Georgia . Therefore that's a lot of roads to take care of. Just hoping they can find a better way to keep the roads maintained as they once did before.* Edit 6/29/23 ... It's now been months and no motorgraders have graded the above mentioned roads as well as Allison Lane off Robbins Rd. ***It's really bad when seniors and disabled citizens. Including just normal people can't drive down a road slowly without their heads bouncing off their vehicles roofs and bolted down secure truck/car & suv parts shake loose and cause vehicle damage to suspension and electrical parts due to washboard/ potholed & washed out ruts in the roads that have gone unattended for 3 months at a time or more. County Property and Home Taxes went up this year yet our properties have actually decreased in values across the board. Taxes are supposed to help pay for road upkeep yet we pay more yet get less. I hope and pray that Bulloch County Commissioners can step in and make some changes soon."
"Good people."
