Located at 4 Roy Ace Street in Knowlton Township, New Jersey, Knowlton Township Fire & Rescue Co. No. 1 proudly serves as the cornerstone of safety and emergency response for our community. Established in 1955 by a dedicated group of Delaware residents, our station is fueled by the commitment of approximately 20 active volunteer members who selflessly devote their time and skills to protect and serve.

Our coverage extends to 3,100 residents across 26 square miles, including all of Knowlton Township, parts of Hardwick Township, Worthington State Forest, and the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. We are proud to serve the hamlets of Columbia, Delaware, Polkville, Hainesburg, Mount Pleasant, Warrington, Centerville, and Ramseyburg.

Knowlton Twp. Fire & Rescue is renowned for managing a significant stretch of highway, including nearly 9 miles of Interstate 80—one of the state’s most accident-prone areas—and the terminus of State Routes 94 and 46. Our team undergoes extensive training to ensure the highest standard of service in fire protection, vehicle and technical rescue, hazardous materials management, and emergency medical care.

Beyond emergency response, we are deeply committed to community engagement through training programs and fire prevention education for residents, local schools, preschools, and home school groups. Our fundraising initiatives, such as the Annual Chicken Dinner, Super 50/50 Raffle, and Food Truck Festival, play a crucial role in supporting our mission.
