Reviews of Camp Out Poconos
"I almost forgot to leave a review of my experience at Camp Out because I am still on cloud 10! Me and my friend was there 2 weeks ago. My friend has been there 3 times and this was my first time. I have to say from the time that we cross the gate and onto the campground, I already knew that I was home...and that was only the beginning. I was not ready for what lied ahead during my weekend stay. The theme for that weekend was Christmas in July! From the cabaret show, DJs, Christmas Morning Drag Brunch, afternoon pool party, Christmas Craft Show and finally the Slay Ride Shot Crawl EVERTHING WAS AMAZING!!! The weather could not have been any more perfect on that weekend! This campground exceeded my expectations and I has so much fun! I have already declared that this will be my new campground to go to in the summer! I will definitely be there next year! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this campground to ANYONE!! You will thank me later and you WILL NOT be disappointed!!!"
"My husband and I visited 3 times during the first season and had a wonderful time. It was obvious that the staff was clearing out the rusted remains of the old campground they bought and that they had a lot of work to do. We returned in April of season 2 and saw the results: absolutely beautiful. They had opened an entire new section of camp and we loved it. The staff was super-friendly, and you’d expect that, right? What we didn’t expect was the unbelievably warm welcome we received from the other campers. Everyone waves - everyone. Everyone asks about your day. Everyone is smiling. We were having a great time and it was obvious that everyone else was as well. We bought a season site immediately and we are glad we did because word spread quickly and CampOUT became a summer destination sensation. Now we’re in the middle of season 3 and the staff has made even more improvements. The grounds are clean, the pool is heated and even on rainy days there’s always something to do. Run, don’t walk, to this place. We thought all the ‘magical’ stuff was crap until we experienced it for ourselves. Now we smile and wave all the time, too, even when we’re back home between visits. Cannot recommend this destination enough. Let yourself dance and you’ll dance all night!"
"What an awesome place! This was our first time visiting Camp Out and we had an amazing time. My partner and I had the pleasure of staying in a deluxe cabin for my birthday weekend. We showed up on a Thursday before most of the weekend guests arrived, which gave us a chance to get to settled and acquainted with several seasonal guests. They made us feel right at home. Everyone here is so friendly, including the staff. There is always something fun to do, whether it's lounging by the pool, attending a party at one of the perm sites, or hanging out by a campfire. Big Steve and his partner Joshua went above and beyond to make sure our stay at Camp Out was comfortable and welcoming. We had a small issue with our cabin upon arrival and Big Steve and the maintenance crew addressed it immediately. You can tell management deeply cares about the satisfaction of their guests. This is such a great place to spend a relaxing weekend and make new friends. I look forward to going back!"
"I don’t even know where to start with this fantastic camp. But here’s what I can sum up: 1. The staff is authentically fantastic. Kevin is one of the most genuine, welcoming humans I have ever met. This was our last stop on a 9 day road trip through the northeastern US and thought we’d just get a place to rest our head. To our pleasant surprise, Kevin came and made sure we had everything we needed, and also introduced us to the other seasonal campers where we spent hours sharing stories and enjoying each other’s company. 2. The facilities and extremely clean—whether it’s your campsite, shower house, or decorated RV properties. My mouth dropped when I found out this place is merely 2 years old! It’s efficiently maintained as if it had been there a decade or two. 3. Whether you’re a gay camping veteran or new to it (like me), you will be embraced and welcomed in a way that you rarely see. If I say anymore about this place, I will be taking away from your own experience so I’ll stop here. My expectations were to stop for a night and head out in the morning and now I’m planning my next trip back in October. Thank you, Camp Out, for every memory. I can’t wait to see you, Kevin, Jessie, and the best in house masseuse you could ask for!"
"This past weekend, we decided to check out this new campground. Upon arrival, the staff gave us a golf cart tour of the sprawling campground, and we were pleased with their friendliness. Our site had access to electric and water; the site was level but small and close to other sites. Unfortunately, the water quality was poor - it was murky, highly acidic, and gritty. While they provided us with an in-line water filter upon arrival, it became clogged after our three-night stay. The campground is currently undergoing improvements. However, there were limited restrooms and shower facilities for its size. Before Camp OUT, this campground was the Foxwood campground, which was close and abandoned, leaving many deteriorating buildings and debris behind. The new owners are commendably working diligently to address this issue and clean up the area. I have uploaded some campground images showing the positives and negatives. Despite the drawbacks, we do not regret staying here and suggest that others should visit and judge for themselves."
