"BEWARE. My experience with the owner of Kay Beauty was so disappointing that I actually have no intention to use her services. I found Kay Beauty because it’s advertised on Groupon. I called the business to make an appointment. The call was answered unprofessionally - there was no introduction so I had to ask if I’d called the correct telephone # - and the owner sounded half-asleep/distracted/unable to concentrate. She then seemed to enthusiastically agree to whatever appointment time and day I wanted, which felt odd because she didn’t seem to be looking at her schedule to ensure my preferences didn’t clash with her other customers’ appointments. We agreed the details of the appointment and she randomly said she’d send me a text message to confirm anything else she needs. She then told me via a text message - she did not have the courage to say it verbally - that she expects a $20 additional payment and it must be paid BEFORE she even provides the service. She had the audacity to immediately send me an invoice for the $20. That’s not how purchasing services advertised via Groupon works. I’m not foolish enough to send some random $20 because they say to do so or even if she thinks she can dress it up as her policy for the ‘privilege’ of someone reserving her time (ie: make an appointment). These business owners have no shame and it’s especially bewildering when they’re this new to the market. Is it a scam or does this type of business owner truly believe that customers must kiss the ground they walk on because how lucky must we be that they’d spend their precious time completing the services they advertise on us? It’s a clever trick to fool everyone who contacts her to send her $20. ‘Kera the Goat’ - yes, that’s the level of professionalism displayed from her phone # via her text messages - ought to invest some resources in customer service and public relations training if her business is legitimate. BEWARE. EDITED TO ADD A SCREENSHOT OF THE OWNER’S RESPONSE TO THIS REVIEW: It is disjointed and irrelevant. It’s also ridiculous to suggest a back facial typically costs between $300 and $500. I’m not upset with you, Kay/Kera, and you’re showing your personality for saying “Sorry you feel that way” instead of “I’m sorry for not being transparent and offering a more professional experience.” Just because you are attempting to create a small business it doesn’t give you a right to deceive customers and be incredibly slack with your customer service."
