"Waited 20 minutes while the only teller in the entire building helped a lady. Wanted to speak to a loan officer and there was one person present who looked at us a couple times never acknowledged us and she was not with a client or on a call. My mother is moving from VA to TN and uses First Citizens in VA and they have always been great to work with. Once she moves she will change banks."

"Bank seems to be stuck in the 90's. No ATM partnership so I called the main number to see if there's even an exterior ATM at the branch as it's not mentioned on their website and I'm told no. They kindly offer me the option to drive 40 minutes to go check, though. What bank doesn't have a drive up ATM in 2022? Unfortunately I'm on SSDI so I'll have to bank with them one more month before I can switch. Also, I don't know how employment DD works but if you are on SS, SSI or SSDI and bank with an institution that gives you your check up front (doesn't hold it until the release date), this bank does not do that. They will tell you they do, then they'll tell you they think they do, then they'll tell you probably not. The answer is NO. Don't let them fool you. If you need access to your money more than just via cash back, bank elsewhere at a more current institution."

"Poor customer service. Treat account holders as though they dont even bank with them. Transactions online take over a week at times to post. No weekend hours or local branch. I travel 2hrs round trip for my issues just to get there for nothing to be done. Overdraft protection is a scam they sign you up to charge you 36.00 per item they honor. Some of the staff are nice dont get me wrong but not enough to keep me from switching to another bank. If I could give no stars i would."
