"I went on a Saturday afternoon, and it wasn't busy. There is a parking spot across from the waterfall, but I park 30 minutes away in another parking spot so I can walk with my dogs, enjoy the beautiful walk, and see the mountains, river, and another small waterfall. The staircase is straight a challengingly if you have bad knees. I tried to continue the hike after the waterfall, but the hill was too inclined, so I turned around and returned to the waterfall area. There's no bathroom."
"This is in my opinion the most beautiful waterfall in the Delaware water gap. And it's officially the tallest waterfall in New Jersey. However, the 2 mile dirt road to get there has numerous potholes. My Subaru made it with no problems but I had to be alert the whole time. I also hiked up to the AT and the 2 lakes which was nothing special, just needed to practice elevation that day"
"There is currently a gate at around (41.1568426, -74.8703516) on Brook Rd, which prevents you from getting to the buttermilk falls parking area. You essentially have to walk an additional 1.8 miles, just to get to the trailhead. There is also a gate blocking traffic from accessing the trailhead from the Mountain rd side, so unless youโre willing to walk the extra mileage to the trailhead, you might want to try another trail."
"Convenient parking, bumpy roads into the falls. You can climb to the top of the falls and enjoy the scenery."
"The falls are beautiful and right across from the parking lot. No hiking required to see the falls. Just a dependable vehicle to get down the road, which has lots of ruts and deep holes. The hike itself is steep and vigorous. I wouldn't say you need to be in the best shape to do this hike, but you would benefit from having appropriate footwear. The steep grade makes sliding very easy. This is an in and out trial, so just as steep as you are going up, you're faced with the challenge of coming back down. There is no spectacular view from the top. Its blocked by trees and drop offs. This trail connects to a loop trail. However that would turn out to be a full day hike."
