"The good first: the cinnamon roll! Perfectly risen and baked, not too heavy but still great chew. And the cream cheese frosting was amazing. The meh: the chocolate croissant looked beautiful but it was overbaked and dry, needed another piece of chocolate inside too. And the multigrain sourdough loaf was texturally ok but lacked flavor, really tasted of nothing. I'd still go back, delish cinnamon roll!"
"Even early on a weekend morning the breads and croissants weren't fresh. They were dried out in the window, and tasted like they were made the day before. The one item that was fresh, the Mallorca, was also disappointing. They're usually my favorite sweet bread/ pan dulce. Instead of being fluffy or light and soft or sweet it was very dense and very firm, and dry inside, more like a scone or brioche biscuit instead. Definitely not what I expected all around after trying multiple breads and pastries. Flavor was decent but very little was fresh which is unusual for a bakery on a weekend morning."
"We stopped in because we saw the chocolate croissant in the window. The server was very attentive to us. Also bought a scone. We were disappointed in the price but saw the 4.7 stars rating and said well it will be worth it. We were wrong. The scone was heavy, DRY and flavorless. The croissant ... I think I forgot to put the truck running. The little smidge of torch chocolate was delicious. But it could have used 10 times the amounts to make it worth the price. Save your money and go somewhere else."
"I’ve been to Dulce on 2 occasions, on trips over the bridge from Philly. I’ve found their staff approachable, even welcoming, and their assortment somewhat plentiful - for the time of day (after 12:00) both times. I’d recommend. They’re fairly conveniently located as well. And with abundant parking in the rear, what’s not to like?"
"We entered this cute little spot with excitement and were thoroughly disappointed by the time we left. Firstly, the person at the register seemed more annoyed that we interrupted his phone scrolling time than he did willing to help. When I asked questions about a few pastries, his responses came across like I was inconveniencing him rather than wanting to be helpful. Secondly, the food. My husband ordered the bread pudding which was very dense and left much to be desired. I ordered a ham + cheese sandwich that at first glance looked delicious. Until I cut it in half + bit into it and noticed there was only two small slices of ham and one thin slice of cheese, which would have been ok in a croissant but it was on a fairly big roll that obviously needed a bit more filling than what they gave. The initial interaction was so off putting that we decided to not even complain before leaving but rather write this review. I rarely put lower than 4 stars on a review but after spending $12 on two small items and leaving completely unsatisfied, I felt it necessary to express our experience. The aesthetic is nice when you walk past the door but everything else was underwhelming to say the least."
