Welcome to Powell Baptist Church

Located at 1577 Old Appling Harlem Highway in the quaint community of Pumpkin Center, just outside Harlem, Georgia, Powell Baptist Church has been a beacon of faith since its founding in 1893. For over 120 years, we have dedicated ourselves to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ and nurturing the spiritual growth of our congregation.

At Powell Baptist Church, we offer a variety of services and ministries designed to reach our community with the message of hope and salvation found in Jesus Christ (Romans 1:16). Our mission is to equip "the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God" (Ephesians 4:12-13).

We encourage every member to actively share their faith in Jesus Christ within the community. Our church also provides mission opportunities to spread the gospel locally, across the United States, and internationally (Acts 1:8). Through educational classes, seminars, worship services, and fellowship, we offer our members the chance to grow spiritually, theologically, and practically.
