Reviews of Chase Bank
"customer service could be a lot better some people who work at this branch can come off very rude condescending and sarcastic."
"Stay away!!! Opened up an account after receiving a coupon code/offer, decided to try a new bank as mine hasn't been the best lately. Was misinformed about requirements at sign up and called branch to fix. They directed me to their 1800 number and, after waiting on hold, was told to go back to branch to fix. After venting some frustration, escalation team said they'd open a complaint with branch in regards to the issue. If this gets fixed in a timely manner, I'll erase this review and continue using chase. If it isn't, I'll be withdrawing every cent and only use their credit cards enough to keep the account active (i previously used their cards for 80% of my transactions for previous 5 years). Update: Never heard back from branch, I'll be filling a BBB bureau complaint and see if a complaint with any other agencies is appropriate. Them closing my checking account without warning/notification now has me needing to get 500$ back from my employer's payroll company on top of losing out on the coupon reward that brought me to these people in the first place."
"I am a 2 time Purple Heart Recipient Combat Wounded Veteran. I went to the Chase Branch in Brentwood where I successfully made a withdrawal from the teller as my debit card was malfunctioning. After my transaction, I asked the lady behind the desk if I could get my debit replaced as the current was damaged (the strip peeling off the back). She told me I could use my phone and do it through the app on my phone. I explained that my phone was also giving me some issues so I needed to get it done at the branch. She asked for my debit card and ID. I presented her my debit card and my retired Military ID card. She handed me the card back and said she needed a drivers license. I explained that it was being mailed as I lost it but that my military ID card should work. She said no, she can’t accept my military ID card so then I asked to speak with her manager. The manager at the Branch said her name was Michelle. I could tell she was unhappy approaching me as my issues seemed to be a bother. I explained to her again that I didn’t have my drivers license but I had a military ID card. She again said they can’t use that and needed a drivers license. The only other document I had besides my military ID which was an INDEFINITE card (non expiring) was the temporary drivers license they issue you at the DMV. I presented this to her but then she handed it back and said the drivers license was expired. At this point I ask her if I’m on a traffic stop because I could have sworn this was a bank. Michelle says, what part of we won’t use that ID card don’t you understand and told me to get out. Then, she tells the girl behind the counter to call the Police. I’ve never been discriminated so badly before. Not sure if Michelle has something against Veterans as the Chase Website clearly states Military IF cards are a valid form of identification. I filed a complaint after calling Chase and the manager I spoke to on the phone even said that she should have allowed me to get my card replaced after providing all those documents. Michelle, I hope your supervisor sees this complaint. You clearly have an ego issue and do not belong in a customer service position. I may have looked like some bum to you but I have served this country honorably deploying twice to Iraq and 3 times to Afghanistan and still serving as a civil servant to this day. Your attitude and piss poor customer service gives the Chase Bank in Brentwood St. Louis a very bad name. I have a complaint ID and look forward to speaking to someone above you regarding this treatment."
"walked in the branch on a Saturday morning to open a new bank account. There was only one other customer in the branch. The lady at the front door said let her talk to one of the licensed bankers for me to talk to. That took 10 minutes by itself. Then she said the banker would take me in a few minutes. Waited another 10 minutes and nothing happened. There are about 7-8 employees in the branch and I was the only one of the two customers. Yet I waited 20 minutes and nothing happened. Chase is not the only bank in town so I walked out and opened the account in another bank nearby. Just horrible experience."
"wish there were more locations, but this one is convenient and close to the 170 and 64 40 so it is still easy to get to. drive through is convenient and is off to the side of the busier target microcenter trader joes area has all the services like all banks with a few ATMs available inside as well"
