"The picks have a covered viewing platform with both ramp and stairs for access as well as benches and plaques describing how the locks work. I spent a couple hours watching a tow of barges pass through. Not much to see if no boats however."

"It was a wonderful tour. But they only give tours on special occasions. There is an observation deck for anyone to come at any time to see the river and the dam."

"An interesting place to visit. Wasn't a whole lot going on the day we visited, we were looking to get pictures of bald eagles. it was cold and windy and not much action. But it's still a nice place to visit and the little town that it's situated by is a nice place to visit also."

"There's an observation deck that allows the public to see the locking process first hand. Theres also several picnic tables. The Army Corps of Engineers operates the dam and lock. The crew is informative and friendly. Great place to spend some time with the kids. Buy a hat!"
