"The place is a desert! I walked in there and saw a book that I was possibly interested in and an older lady yield to not touch those. Doesn’t feel like a welcoming environment."
"The gentleman at the front desk was so helpful and assisted me with my daughter's financial aid Process. He scanned my child ID and sent it to our Emails because she was locked out of her account. I will be back to finish the process of her financial aid on their computer. The environment is so comfy and cozy plus quiet."
"I really half star was an option. And I’ll start with the resources and books selection is null and void, I guess they think we the people in the area don’t read books. Everything about this place is degenerate garbage including the little lady who sits in at front desk with the glasses…… She’s very rude and seemingly bitter about her job."
"So, I visited the library on today’s date to make some copies. Now, I will say that my library card has been expired since 2014 and I don’t reside in East Saint Louis anymore. I went there and signed in at the door. Went to the desk, the woman who was sitting behind the desk was extremely rude. Older, heavy set lady. Attitude like no other. She told me since my card was expired, I’d have to log in as a guest... and could only use the computer for twenty minutes. That was fine, but there wasn’t a need to be rude and have an attitude. East Saint Louis doesn’t have the best reputation, and it doesn’t make it any better when you have people who are workers in the city be rude. You never know who you can be interacting with, but it’s a place of business and you should be pleasant to whomever comes in to use whatever services provided."
"Google says 7:45 it close. We get here at 6:30ish. They're closed and it's the only library we have to get a library card from to explore nearby library locations, plus they never have library cards to distribute! ... Now the lights are off. Someone needs to update the hours open on Google"
