"If you're not in their click, you will never work here"
"They smell funny and protect murders and wes blair just lost his job in Memphis!"
"Back in 2019 a few of you guys saved my life. Keep up the good work."
"Called at ~5:20 PM to ask for assistance with a dog in the yard with no leash or collar. Talked to an individual (maybe his name was Al) who offered no solutions or advice on the situation. He was also fairly rude and short. This is disappointing from a resource management perspective as a city taxpayer. The dog seemed friendly and eventually wandered off, but I thought there were leash laws that can warrant law enforcement involvement if not followed. I hope that if the dog had been aggressive, the response would have been different, but maybe it would have been the same: "I have no nuisance management officers until tomorrow morning; I can't do anything for you". No disrespect to the officers that risk their lives in the line of duty attempting to keep the city safe."
"At approximately 12:40 AM on 20230104, an officer came up from BEHIND us in his vehicle as my best friend and I were walking back to our hotel room for the night on Broadway street. There was a large patch of ice covering the entire sidewalk and so we briefly stepped out onto the street (looking to ensure no vehicles were immediately around us) to avoid falling. This officer, coming up from behind us, yells out his window “hey! …hey! I’m talking to you!” to which we do not respond as we are immediately concerned this is someone who is drunk and not in their right mind. It is only after this officer turns his lights on and continues yelling at us (for apparently stepping very briefly onto the street) that we realize this is, in fact, a police officer. I am a sergeant in United States Marine Corps and one who upholds the law to the fullest extent. I am writing to convey the importance of identifying yourself in the future if you choose to come up behind someone as you did us. I am also writing to emphasize the importance of placing salt on the city’s sidewalks if you wish for people to not walk on the street to avoid said sidewalks. I’m greatly disappointed in the departments handling of this and hope this officer receives further training very soon."
