Under the leadership of Mary Jane White, our committed team, including Deputy Recorders Dana Jacob and Annette Roth, is here to assist you with your document needs.
Office Services:
Our office is responsible for recording various documents and ensuring they comply with statutory requirements. We offer in-person services where the public can search our records and purchase copies of transactions. Additionally, our records, indexed and scanned back to 1896, are accessible online for your convenience. Choose from a range of subscriptions to search and print documents through our IDOC service.
Please note, while we ensure documents meet recording standards, we advise consulting a real estate attorney or title company for preparing deeds related to real estate property.
Payment and Fees:
We now accept debit and credit card payments for your convenience. The fee structure is $24.00 for the first page and $3.00 for each additional page. A $25 non-standard fee applies if documents do not adhere to the State of Missouri's formatting requirements.
Marriage Licenses:
For marriage licenses, both parties must visit our office together with a government-issued photo ID, such as a driver's license, non-driver's license, military ID, or passport. To expedite the process, please print and complete the Marriage Application before your visit.

"I went to have a quit claim deed recorded. It had already been prepared by the seller of the land which I purchased. The document did not have a 3 inch blank space at the top, which is where they stamp their insignia. It just had misc. info that could have been erased or copied over (read on...). I was made to pay a 25 dollar "non standard document" fee to rectify this. I asked if she could just make a copy of the quit claim with a blank sheet of paper over the top 3 inches to make it suitable to their standards. The answer was "Yes, but I can't change it now." It was just a "gotcha" way to gouge a citizen for $25 instead of offering to help someone in an honest fashion. Expect this kind of 'service' if you go in person."
