Located at 199 South Main Street, Glen Carbon, Illinois, the Glen Carbon Fire Protection District has been a cornerstone of safety and service in our community since its founding in 1901. As a dedicated fire station, we are committed to protecting the lives and property of our residents through prompt emergency response and proactive community engagement.

Our New Station 1

In July 2020, we proudly opened the doors to our new Station 1, a state-of-the-art facility designed to enhance our service capabilities. The new station, fully operational since the first week of August 2020, features a spacious equipment bay that houses all our essential firefighting and EMS equipment under one roof. This expansion enables us to respond more efficiently and effectively to emergencies.

Training and Community Engagement

Our new station includes a cutting-edge training tower, providing our team and mutual aid departments with opportunities to practice high-level rescue scenarios, confined space operations, and rappelling. Additionally, the facility boasts a large training room, available for district use and public meetings, fostering community involvement and education on fire safety and prevention.

Our Team

The Glen Carbon Fire Department operates as a combination department, with a dedicated full-time career Fire/EMS staff supported by a team of paid on-call firefighters. Our team is passionate about serving the community and continually seeks to grow and adapt to meet the needs of our residents.

Our Board of Trustees, including members Luke Harris, Frank Dunn, Mike Woolsey, Ron Williams, and Jack Humes, oversees the district’s operations with a commitment to transparency and accountability.
