StoryWalk® at Worthen Park

Welcome to StoryWalk® at Worthen Park, a unique outdoor experience located at 2599 Parkview Drive, Granite City, Illinois. This innovative project, brought to you by the Six Mile Regional Library District in partnership with the Granite City Park District, invites people of all ages to enjoy a delightful blend of nature, physical activity, and literacy.

As you stroll through the scenic paths of Worthen Park, you'll encounter 20 engaging stations displaying pages from a charming picture book. This month, we honor Judy Modrusic, a cherished former employee of the Six Mile Regional Library District, with the delightful story "Chicken Story Time" by Sandy Asher. Follow along as feathered friends make their weekly visits to the library, and enjoy the vibrant illustrations and fun activities designed to captivate both children and adults.

The StoryWalk® Project, originally created by Anne Ferguson and developed with Rachel Senechal in Vermont, has become a global phenomenon, with installations in all 50 states and countries around the world. At Worthen Park, we invite you to experience this wonderful initiative that promotes early literacy through reading, singing, movement, and more.

Support our mission by sponsoring a month of StoryWalk® for just $75. Your name or logo will be prominently displayed at the beginning of the trail, and your contribution will help cover the costs of book copies, lamination, and mounting.
