Originally constructed in 1941 by the Department of Defense, the complex served as a vital Army ammunition plant during World War II, employing approximately 16,000 individuals in the production of .30- and .50-caliber ammunition. On July 1, 1966, ownership was transferred to GSA, which transformed the site into the modern office park it is today.
Visitors to the Goodfellow Federal Center must present a valid ID and pass through a security checkpoint at the main entrance. For the safety and security of all, ID badges must be worn at all times while on the premises. Although the complex does not feature a cafeteria, vending machines are conveniently located throughout the campus for your refreshment needs.
