"I go here regularly and unfortunately, so do the homeless, the drug addicts. They think it is their private clubhouse. They drink, smoke, do drugs and sleep in here-- even on the floor. I have BEGGED Metro, for YEARS to get security down here. Once in awhile, they come. Unfortunately, they park in the grocery parking lot, hide, and watch from inside their vehicles. One time, there was a security officer there. He was busy poking his head in the bus talking to the bus driver. There was a guy sleeping on the floor in the shelter area. Another guy was smoking in the other section. The outside bench was wet from the rain. I had no place to sit. I am disabled. You can't tell by looking at me. This man didn't even notice me and my predicament. He was too busy socializing with the bus driver. I have seen others, feeling uncomfortable just leave. Men, families, women, etc.... The drunks will approach you and it doesn't feel safe. Even the bus drivers don't feel safe here. This is a busy Transit Center. Three buses come here (#10, #90, #95. The #9 connects across the street). WE NEED SECURITY OFFICERS STANDING IN THE SHELTER AREA. To actually, enforce the rules. Their presence would be a deterrent and be safer for PAYING passengers. Pay attention. Fyi....There a few banks, a McDonald's, Walgreens, CVS, and a Schnucks here."
