"St. Mark Catholic Church is a very fine parish but it isn't the one we usually attend since our own Church is slated to be subsumed into another parish and ultimately closed, like so many other churches in the St. Louis area. The Catholic Church isn't exactly batting 1000 these days and they are making matters worse by forcing elderly people like ourselves to find other parishes to go to when we were perfectly happy attending our own for the past fifty years. The Church would do well to realize that membership might improve if they among other things had music that was written more recently than the Middle Ages, and if they would allow women into the priesthood. Far be it from me to advise the Roman Catholic Church, but come Judgement Day, I will lay one claim to my credit, that in the midst of my hopes and prayers, as a lifelong Catholic, I will absolutely LMAO if God turns out to be a woman."
"St Mark Catholic Church has a variety of organizations such as a Men's Club, Knights of Columbus, Ladies' Guild, St Vincent DePaul, a quilter's group, Bible study group, and others from four other parishes being merged into it. Four priests and four deacons serve it and the four other parishes. It has daily Masses at 6:30 AM, 8 AM, 12 PM, and weekend Masses Saturday 5 PM, Sunday 7 AM, 9 AM, and 11 AM. Each of the merging parishes has one Mass each weekend."
"On the website, check out Father Ted's reflections. He creates a short youtube video about the readings from the mass just about every day of the week. He sets the tone and the mood of the readings. So it feels like you're really there. The Archdiocese of St. Louis merged all five of the Lemay, MO churches into Saint Mark's. I used to go every day to mass at Saint Bernadette's on Sheridan Blvd which was within walking distance of my apartment. I don't have a car and have no way to get there So my experience is strictly from watching youtube videos."
