"The slogan of an Episcopal church is "The Episcopal Church welcomes you." They really mean it at The Church of St. Michael & St. George. The Sunday morning services are wonderful because of thoughtful sermons, prayers from the Book of Common Prayer, and beautiful music. Don't overlook Evensong when the choir sings evening prayer at 5:00 p.m. on the first Sunday of the month October through May. A free reception usually follows Evensong. I usually attend the Sunday service at 5:00 p.m. in St. Mary's Chapel. Typical attendance is 10-12. Casual dress. Service concludes by 5:45."
"This church long ago had St. George (from downtown St. Louis) merge with it. My only complaint after attending 3 services, they added pews to the church, but didn't expand either bathroom. This church has 5 Priests because the main Priest trains 2 new Priests with the help of 2 Priests. This church not only is so great that they train new Priests, they are a leader helping numerous other churches. The bulletin they give you at the beginning of the church services includes almost every word spoken, except the hymns. The main Priest and the church are as near perfection as humanly possible!!! I highly recommend you attend a service and get to know the members...this is a church you will always fondly remember."
"Very traditional service, yet extremely friendly clergy and parishioners. Music is top notch. Sermons are challenging in the best possible way. Does a great job of training young priests, so there are always fresh faces and perspectives."
"As I've gotten older, I've really come to appreciate the depth of experiences available at CSMSG. Young to old, everyday of the week, there is a meaningful experience for everyone. On Sundays we have beautiful music and liturgy, wonderful sermons, and Sunday school for all ages. Through the week there is a K-8 school, daily prayer services and bible study, and a myriad of volunteer opportunities for the community. In the summer there are mission trips where you can serve others around the world. Yet despite all of these wide variety of activities, I have come most to relish the sermons as we are called to follow Christ. The simple message of love and forgiveness and grace rejuvenates me and sustains me throughout the week!"
"The Vespers service, Evening Song, with music from the British choral tradition that is conducted at 5 pm on first Sundays of the month (snow emergencies and summer excepted) at St. Michael & St. George is an exceptionally beautiful and restful worship experience. Well worth working into one's Sunday schedule whatever one's religious background."
