"Terrible community hell-bent on demolishing anything of cultural value within their boarder. How is clear-cut removal of neighborhoods still happening. Didn't we learn anything from the city of st louis over the last 100 years?"
"As a new resident not only to university city but the state to the inspection process . I would recommend that the city provide resident with a follow up report of the inspection with detail of the next step for the resident. I had to pay $35 re-inspection which I was not aware of, which I scheduled for today 11 am - 1 pm today . It is now 3:34 and hasn’t seen or heard from them . Needed handrail installed after new steps and front sidewalk was installed."
"If you need extra stress and expense for no apparent reason, I highly recommend University City Hall and their permits & inspection department. To sell a house, you need to pass a UCity inspection. The process is opaque, and it's super hard to ask someone anything (either on phone, in person, or via email) because they have totally random hours they don't announce. Mine involved: 1) being required to get contractors to close permits they opened before we owned the house; 2) failing my inspection because an outlet in our attic bathroom wasn't GFCI -- when, as it turns out, we have zero outlets in our attic bathroom. They also told me my electrician needed to get a permit to replace they outlet, which would add $125 to the cost of doing a $150 repair. Love this process, thank you Mayor Terry Crow!"
"Wish I could leave them 0 star. These are the WORST people you will ever encounter in your life. 90% of the time, they will not answer phone calls, and if you leave a voicemail, they will never call you back. Be prepared to come to their office and wait in a LONG line every time you deal with these people. The building inspection and permit department are all crooked, trying to charge you for everything. If you schedule an inspection, they give you a two-hour window without calling you ahead of time, and sometimes they don't even show up within that window. If you leave a lockbox outside, you have to be extremely specific about its location, even though it's right on the door handle, and they will charge $35 if they don't find the lockbox. Even I registered my house as vacant, which I paid fees, they still charge trash bill, and if you have an outstanding trash bill, you can't pull any construction permits. I tried the entire week trying to call the finance department and left quite a few voice mails, but they never get back to me, and every time you work with these people, as said, you will have to go into their office, and those people are rude, and unprofessional!! Stay away from these people!"
"Had court for a serious matter and when trying to show evidence on how the whole situation transpired to the prosecuting attorney (male), literally got waved off. When speaking to him he took the matter as a joke, let's do better on trying to protect those who really are the victims and not the ones who "play victim""
