"Take a couple hours off work if you need drivers license renewed here. Monday I signed in at 11:05, got a text that I was up at 1:40. I had left and gone back to work. Friday I signed in at 10:25, my name was called at 12:20. I had all the right paperwork. The process itself took 5-10 mins. There was only 1 person working the drivers licenses both days I went."
"My experience at the South County License Office was highly disappointing. I arrived at 12:45 PM and, despite the long wait, was not attended to until much later in the day. By 3:30 PM, the staff announced that it is not a "stand-up office," and those waiting inside while standing had to move outside into the heat. This policy forced many of us to endure the uncomfortable conditions outdoors while waiting. To add to the frustration, at 3:30 PM, I received a text notification stating that there were still seven people ahead of me in line. Finally, they started my process, and it was after 4:00 PM when I left. It's clear they are severely understaffed, as there were only two people working, each still having to attend to a line of over 40 people when I left. Overall, the lack of organization and customer consideration at this office is unacceptable. The long wait times and poor handling of waiting customers make it an experience I would not recommend."
"I waited three hours patiently outside ,while only 2 employees were working on a Friday. I received texts every 30 mins with an update. After three hours ,the text update stated I had two people ahead of me so I went inside and they proceeded to call people up in another line of about 7 people at the desk while about 30 people remained in the office. I finally asked why it said I had 2 people ahead of me, if there was a line at the desk and I still wasn't called. She told me she had no idea where I was in line but she had my name. So basically the text system means nothing. I finally had to leave without being helped,so I could make a birthday dinner. I have never waited 3 hrs at a DMV before this and I won't be returning to that office."
"The Good: The two ladies working the desk were very friendly, helpful and competent. The Bad : The advertised Qless remote sign-up app does not work. The Ugly: 25 people were lined up at the 9AM opening on 7/1/22024. There were about the same number when I left 1 1/2 hours later....with some standing out side waiting for a seat. The contractor operating this location only had 2 ladies working the desk. Instead of just posting the staff shortage notice, maybe you should pay more to attain more good employees. BTW: The office is equipped with about 10 customer work stations. Recommendation: Use a different location."
"I got there just as they were opening on 6/28 and there was around 20 people in front of me. It took 15 minutes to sign in. There were two clerks processing drivers licenses and one employee processing everything else, who I believe was a manager; I’m sorry I didn’t get her name. She was very pleasant, calm, efficient, and explained that they had a number of people quit. 45 minutes later, another employee came in. I was there for around an hour. But I have to say, because of this woman’s attitude, the atmosphere in the building was very uplifted. No one seemed to be angry or impatient. I feel this woman was not just an excellent worker, but an inspiration for anyone who struggles with being short staffed."
