"My employer switched over to this company for pharmacy benefits and it has been nothing but a hassle for me. First, they are both the insurance company AND they have their own pharmacy. That in itself is super confusing. At my employer's suggestion, I tried Express Scripts for mail-order prescriptions. I am on one medication that can only be filled for one month at a time, and also on anti-depressants. No matter the frequency or when the refill is requested, they do not start the refill until my supply is gone. So now there is a couple day delay for the order to be filled, then another week for it to arrive. So I have gone more than a week without these meds that I rely on to stay alive (not hyperbole!). Common sense says you get the medication to the patient before their supply is gone. Once I learned that, I switched back to my local pharmacy. Everything seemed to be back to normal, thankfully! Until today, that is. Express Scripts asked for a prior authorization for another prescription. My local pharmacy sent that request to my doctor, and they followed the instructions. For some reason, Express Scripts filled this prescription and they said it is on the way to me and I will receive it in 7-10 days. Why?!?!!! Again, I need to be without my medication because this company is a joke. And good luck if you ever need to call them. I called the number off my insurance card to check on the prior authorization for the insurance, and somehow I ended up talking to the pharmacy. Or couse they can't help me and told me to call the number on the back of the card."
"It has taken 10 days for Express Scripts to “process” my prescription and finally shipped. Even with the emergency fill my doctor gave me, I will still have a gap by the time it arrives. Terrible."
"Overall I feel this company is good. I am required to use them on my long term medications. They give you great support if you enroll in some of their programs, like one for Diabetics. My only issue is that I use insulin and they ship it to me in a foam container but it takes 2 days to get to me. They only put a icepak on the bottom under the insulin but nothing on top. The insulin I received today was cool on the cartons touching the ice packs but the ice packs had melted completely and were 40 degrees. The boxes on top did not feel as cool. I feel putting ice packs on top would help keep the shipment cold . Also ship insulin overnight so that in this 90 degree plus weather , sitting in a UPS warehouse, and on their trucks, it doesn't become warmer than optimal temps. My understanding is that it's dangerous to use insulin that has not been properly stored. Just a suggestion for shipping insulin or any other temperature sensitive drug."
"Express Scripts is a terrible company. I was repeatedly misled (or lied to) in being told my prescription was being sent soon. Over a week after the prescription was received by Express Scripts, they told me it would be additional weeks until I would receive the medication. I followed up repeatedly for over a week before finding out about the delay. And when I finally found out about the delay, they confirmed that they ran out the day I submitted the prescription (after confirming it was in stock). What happened during those 8 days it was supposedly being prepared for shipment? I could've got my medication elsewhere and avoided running out and suffering the health effects."
"I have never given a bad review, until today. CIGNA owns the company that owns this mail order pharmacy, but the quality of the service is below the standards I have become accustomed to receive from CIGNA. No one there speaks Spanish so the pharmacy representative needed to get a translator on the telephone so I could have my questions answered. Then the scripts pharmacy representative told me they needed to get all new prescriptions from my doctor when I had 3 refills remaining on all my medications from my current local pharmacy. I want to save $500 a year, but why does Script Pharmacy make it so difficult!!!!"
