St. Clement of Rome Mission

Welcome to St. Clement of Rome Mission, a vibrant Orthodox Christian community located at 128 Tift Road Northeast, Rome, Georgia. Under the spiritual guidance of Archimandrite John (Townsend), Abbot of the Skete of the Fathers of Optina, our mission is to foster a life of prayer and learning, rooted in the rich traditions of the Orthodox faith.

At St. Clement of Rome Mission, we embrace the timeless teachings of the Orthodox Church, which has preserved and defended the Faith of the Apostles for over 2,000 years. Our community is evangelical, yet not Protestant; orthodox, yet not Jewish; catholic, yet not Roman. Rather than being non-denominational, we are pre-denominational, maintaining the original teachings and practices handed down since the Day of Pentecost.
