"My 7 year old saw dr Mares for the first time last week. She was prescribed Paxil for anxiety. I went home and discovered Paxil isn't an FDA approved drug for adolescents under 17 due to an increased risk of suicidal behavior and hostility. I called first thing the next morning, Dr Mares wasn't in the office, left a message asking her to consider another medication, no call back. Called after the weekend and Dr Mares wasn't in the office, left another message, no call back. Called today, twice and was told that Dr. Mares didn't address a med change so she must think that this is the best medication option. I told the woman at the front desk that I disagreed with that statement and that I wouldn't be picking up the prescription from the pharmacy. I was told by the woman at the front desk that if I didn't want to listen to the drs recommendations then I should find a new provider. Thank you for your suggestion Lori at the front desk, as soon as I hung up with you I made a call and found myself a new provider. I am absolutely sickened by the lack of respect and decency I've received from this practice and they have lost my respect, business any chance of a recommendation."
