"Optim did my husbands shoulder surgery on July 22, and while the surgery went well the pre/post op journey has been a nightmare. First my husbands surgery was scheduled for July 8. We go for pre-op and he needs cardiac clearance before we can go through with the surgery. His PCP with the department of veterans affairs moved mountains and the wheels of government to get his clearance in 3 days. They then call the Friday before his surgery (originally scheduled on a Monday) and tell us they didn't get the final authorization from the VA and cancelled his surgery and said if they get it Monday he will be rescheduled for Thursday July 11. He was off all NSAIDs for 10 days leading up to his surgery and advised to stay off of them until we can confirm his surgery date. I called Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and finally on Friday was I able to reach someone who told us they rescheduled for July 22. He could take his NSAIDs for 2 days and then come off of them again for another 10 days. I finally got in touch with the VA who sent me a copy of his approval letter WITH final authorization sent to Optim in MAY. When we finally got to the Tattnal hospital on the 22nd we were told Dr. Cook cancelled all his surgeries for the 8th so don't know why he blamed the VA. Now we are 6 weeks post op and my husband was supposed to start physical therapy after week 4. They referred us to a physical therapist who doesn't work with the VA and all attempts to contact the doctor (or anyone at ANY of the Optim offices that can send a new referral to a physical therapist that works with the VA) has been fruitless. I have not received a call back from the doctor or his staff at any point. The rental equipment we were told my husband would need for the first month of physical therapy is scheduled to be picked up up on Sept 16 and we are not having to get a new referral from the VA which will not be processed until the end of September. Meanwhile my husband is unable to work, unable to use his right (dominate) arm at all. It gets tighter and harder to move each day If you are a soldier/veteran being referred out for surgery be warned. This is not the system for you. We should have known after the very first appointment when we sat in the Hinesville office for more than 1 hour and 50mins before being seen for 2 mins"

"I had a scheduled appointment with them. I was waiting over 4 hours to be seen. I was told that they were trying to squeeze me in! Squeeze me in? Seriously! I left there and made an appointment with a different doctor. Sorry that I don't want pills. My new doctor is the best"
"My husband was waiting over 4 hours with an appointment. Someone said thar we are trying to squeeze you in! Squeeze me in? I have an appointment. We left there and found a different doctor who cares and not just pushing the pills."
