"I called ahead to make sure what my initial visit would cost with my insurance and was told $25. When I arrived they performed a scan and used some kind of meter on my ears; never saying or implying that this was optional, not typical to an initial visit or would be an additional cost. The PA never even asked what treatments had already been used for my condition or so much as looked in my ears or at my throat. When I go to check out I’m handed a bill for $1135 and told it’s because of a new insurance year. I’d called in the new year and with the new insurance information prior to my appointment. That was what the $25 fee I was given was based on. Nope, it was not the deductible either. Then I receive a notice from my insurance company saying the whole visit is denied based on wrong ICD codes being used and insufficient notations indicating that the scan and meter were not medically necessary and they weren’t covering any of it."
