Amidon Memorial Conservation Area

Welcome to Amidon Memorial Conservation Area, a serene natural haven located in Fredericktown, Missouri. This conservation area offers a wide array of outdoor activities for nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers alike. Visitors can enjoy hiking, sightseeing, and nature observation, as well as engage in activities such as hunting, fishing, and trapping, all in accordance with Chapter 11 of the Missouri Wildlife Code.

The area is open to the public from 4:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily, with extended hours for specific activities like hunting and fishing. Whether you're looking to explore the scenic trails on foot, by bicycle, or on horseback, or simply wish to relax and take in the natural beauty, Amidon Memorial Conservation Area has something for everyone.

Please note the following guidelines to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors. Activities such as the destruction or removal of department property, military training by non-government entities, and the use of paintball or airsoft weapons are strictly prohibited. Additionally, the use of glass containers within the Castor River Shut-Ins Natural Area is not allowed.

For those interested in camping, the area permits camping for up to 14 consecutive days within any 30-day period, with a total limit of 30 days per calendar year across all department areas. Groups of more than 10 people require a special use permit, which can be requested at least 30 days in advance.
