"Got gas today. Clerk was in cooler so I said hello. No response to I went to the cooler door. Said hello 4 times. She ignored me. I said hello again and she came out. Said absolutely nothing to me! I said oh I thought you didn't hear me. Nothing! I paid for my cash, she gave me a receipt and still said nothing. No thank you, nothing! I've gone there several times before and the guy is very friendly. She was very unfriendly and rude!!!"
"Sunday morning we stopped by this Shell station while staying in Rock Island for business. We thought it was closed because there were no cars in the parking lot. We pulled up parallel to the front door & my husband saw an employee inside so he went in to get his Gatorade. I kept the car where it was, close to the door, because there was no one else around & because he has cancer & is weak in his legs. A woman drove into the parking lot & started honking & yelling out the window. I rolled my window down to hear her. She was screeching that I could not park where I was. I told her we would only be a minute and the lot was otherwise vacant, plenty of other places to park. She zoomed out around our car & parked within inches of our bumper then thought better of it & moved to the side of the building. I thought nothing else of it. As my husband was walking out the door, the screechy woman & a store clerk came stomping behind him. They came to my window & the angry one continued to scream about my parking. She was wearing a Shell jacket so she was also an employee. The ultimate power of being a gas station attendant apparently went to her head as all of the kindness and humanity left her body. I told her my husband has cancer so we stayed close to the door so he did not have to walk far & no harm was done because he was in there two minutes and there was NO ONE ELSE in the parking lot! I asked her to back away from our car so I could leave. She did not. Then I told her to get away from our car or just call the police to arrest me for parking in a way that made her unhappy. Then I started cursing because she just kept scolding us and would not back off. Finally, I just pulled out because she would not back away from our car. As we were driving away she was screaming God bless at the top of her lungs. Maybe she just wasn't having a good morning. Maybe she is a horrible little troll with no compassion, no customer service skills, & no real concern about God blessing us at all. By the way, we have handicapped plates which does not give us permission to park ANYWHERE but should afford us a little bit of kindness and understanding. Not at that Shell station though."
"I was at the pump and the cashier turned it off after I had paid. Really cool. I didn’t get to pump and the screen read “pump stopped”. Older man was working gray hair and glasses. Where are the hours posted?"
"Walked in to grab a pop and the cashier asked if I had a mask. I told him that I didn't and grabbed my pop. When I got to the counter he refused to sell me the Mt. Dew unless I bought a mask for $1.50 while I was already standing there at the counter. Like that makes any sense at all. I told him no thanks and he refused to sell me anything."
"Lived in this area my whole life and always came to this shell until today. I'm trying to reset my gas pump and the screen says waiting for cashier approval. So I wait a moment and then look up and see both employees outside smoking. So by this time I'm already running late to get my kids from school so I hurry and move to a different pump to realize after I pump my gas that the fuel grades are backwards so I had hit the most expensive when I always get the regular pretty much all because of terrible service at this location. Actually I didn't receive any service when they stood there with theirs cigarettes in their hands just looking at me. Smh. So now I paid $35 for less than 10 gallons and now my van is running different. Get those employees out of here!"
