Welcome to the Mississippi Valley Veterans Memorial

Located at 405 Division Street, Burlington, Iowa, the Mississippi Valley Veterans Memorial stands as a testament to the bravery and sacrifice of our region's service men and women. Established in 2011, our mission is to honor these individuals by etching their names into a memorial that is both beautiful and dramatic—a place of remembrance and reflection.

Our stunning memorial, completed on July 4, 2015, was made possible through the generosity of area veterans, private donors, and local businesses. The land, graciously donated by Great River Health Systems, became the foundation for this meaningful tribute. Designed and built by Leyda, Burrus & Metz Monuments with artistic contributions from local artist Roy Dixon, the memorial features hand-carved scenes depicting each branch of the military and their roles in times of peace and conflict.

Today, the memorial proudly displays over 2,100 names, with more being added regularly. We invite you to visit this serene park, where you can honor the legacy of those who have served and continue to serve our nation.

To honor a veteran by adding their name to the memorial, a donation of $225 is requested. These donations are tax-deductible and support the ongoing preservation of this cherished site.
