"Best cinnamon rolls ever! No exaggeration. I zap them in the microwave a few seconds. Pleeease keep supplying Webster Groves Schnucks with product."
"I went to this location in Soulard Market. The smell of the bakery was incredible. The employees are extremely nice and helpful. My only complaint was that the double chocolate chip cookies were overcooked and difficult to chew; they were not edible. Maybe next time I go, things will be better."
"June Update: Stopped in while at SoulRd Market first thing to check out the baked goods. I'm not disappointed by any means, as they had lots to choose from since it was early morning. Always stop in there first so you get the best selection. Came away with Cherry turnovers, chocolate chip, and oatmeal Raisin cookies along with a couple of Danish. Gonna have to try their brioche braided bread loaf next time. Remember to read below for all the people this bakery helps support. That's why it's a must for me to stop in every time I'm at Soulard Market. Come enjoy great baked goods too. Ran across their Bakery Store down at Soulard Farmers Market on Friday. For those of you who don't know anything about this bakery, you really need to know what you're supporting as it's so amazing. Their story touches the heart strings, along with their baked goods being so delicious and yet simple. Prices are so reasonable that you can buy several baked goods and know you're supporting the employees' wages. The White Cream cake was so yummy, not heavy at all, and the icing is perfect. Then, the Cherry Pies rolls were a first for me. By golly, they were scrumptious big time. There is hope in the baking Bridge Bread Bakery is a non-profit social enterprise in the city of St. Louis employs individuals experiencing homelessness and provides them with marketable skills and reliable employment. At Bridge Bread, we make a difference in the lives of the individuals who work for us. We are our brother’s keeper. Our employees earn a living wage while learning or re-learning the value of being productive and self-sufficient. At Bridge Bread, they become contributing members of the community. After training in the bakery and establishing a positive work record, some staff stay with us, while others move on to other jobs and other fields. Bridge Bread is their doorway – to a hopeful and dignified future. Our successful formula is built on three key factors: A significant amount of our sales revenue goes directly to compensating employees. Our bakers and one administrative assistant are the only paid employees at Bridge Bread. We recently hired a program director to assist our bakers’ with social services needs. The program director is paid via grants and donations. All other work is done by volunteers. Because bread is a consumable commodity, customers return week after week. Baking is a valuable trade skill that provides a sustainable source of income for homeless and out-of-work individuals. Our Success: Approximately two-thirds of the bakers who have worked at Bridge Bread over the years have been successful. They continue to be housed and employed. You Can Help. We encourage the community to get involved: Buy our products online, in person at our Bake Shop, or from our mobile food truck. Volunteer with our organization. Distribute our products through your church, business, or restaurant. Tell others about the work of Bridge Bread. Follow them on social media –Facebook"
"I LOVE this bakery's purpose the most. From their website: Bridge Bread Bakery is a non-profit social enterprise that provides supportive employment to people without safe and stable housing. Not only are they doing something meaningful for the community, but their baked goods are top notch. When my husband and I stopped in on a chilly Friday morning in December, the owner was giving a presentation to a roomful of kids and their parents. We enjoyed their cranberry orange and cinnamon apple rolls. My only wish is that I could have enjoyed it warm upon buying it. I'm confident they would have heated it up if I'd asked, but we were in and out quickly so as to be quiet for the presentation. I saved half of it so I could heat it up at home and it was well worth the wait."
"Love their bagels and cinnamon rolls. The everything bagel is A-awesome. The brownies are delicious too. Fred is super friendly and there is an easy going vibe at the place. Besides, they do a wonderful service by helping people who are homeless by employing them."
