Reviews
"Lots of trails to hike. Completely free. Beautiful views. Great combination of prairie and shaded timber areas. Multiple trails depending on how far/long you'd like to hike. Pet friendly. Overall very well kept. Giving a four only for lack of bathroom facilities."
"We visited Witkowsky State Wildlife Area specifically to check out the Hanover Earth Station. It was really weird and awesome, and a little wild to walk through. It gave an apocalypse meets Lost sort of vibe. It was really unique thing to find on a hike. In terms of difficulty, I would say the Walnut trail was mostly light to slightly medium difficulty. Very enjoyable all around!"
"Nice trails but a little confusing. There are ruins of two earth stations that have interesting echoes. Kinda creepy if you are all alone there"
"Easy hike on a nice wide path. A little hilly. Great view from Prairie Point. The Earth Station was a unique discovery. I would have never imagined something like this in Galena."
