"Dr. Cory Gonyo, Pastor, is not just a preacher.. he is a teacher, and a biblical example of a good leader. Every message is directly from the Word of God and he does not stray from it. Music is mixed, but included drums and electric guitar, while also including some hymns and choir. Nursery is provided for 3 and under, while older children have childrens bulletins to follow along and learn to worship with their families. There is Awana Sunday nights for children at 4pm, which my children have grown so much in. There are so many opportunities to get connected on a smaller scale also, through bible studies and small groups. The Lord is alive in His church here."

"Strengths from a repeat visitor's perspective: A great, classic smaller-sized church. Lots going on for all ages to bless both the local body and to bless those outside the body thru giving and service including Sunday school for all ages, Bible studies, host CBS (Community Bible Study), active ministry teams of various kinds, etc. Appear to be a mixed-age community of believers who feel like family. Not uncommon for individuals to be able to address the congregation regarding the needs of family in Puerto Rico, an engagement, a significant anniversary, a prayer need or praise, which is great! The pastor is cheerful and positive but yet not afraid to be direct in a kind way about areas the congregation needs to grow in. He has a clearly evident passion for the Lord and his Word, and works through a book of the Bible at a time with an emphasis on application. It's also a pretty friendly church body. Significantly, they are a mortgage-free congregation, which frees up their resources considerably! Fabulous! Weaknesses, from my perspective as a frequent visitor: Music is pretty much stuck around 1980-2000 and isn't very vibrant, though the musicians are skilled so not painful by any means. It can be fun to sing a favorite from the 80's that you generally don't hear any more, but if current music or "getting lost in worship and praise while you sing" is your thing, you'll be disappointed. Not sure what programming is available for youth. They do have some, and some sit together, but seemed a little on the lean side- although, perhaps for today, they might be ahead of the curve in numbers actually...not sure. As a non-Baptist, as in any denominational church, the emphasis on what Baptists are doing versus the body of Christ at large instead is a little off-putting for me, but to be expected, I guess? Anyway...a good option to check out and see if it's a fit for you!"
