"My experience with Nesmith Construction has been nothing short of a nightmare. I went under contract for a new home in the Sunfield Stations community after viewing another property in the area. But the home I saw and loved was built by a different builder, and unfortunately, Nesmith Construction was responsible for the one I ended up under contract for. My realtor and I did a walkthrough after the drywall and trim work had begun, and it was clear that the quality of workmanship was severely lacking. The master bath had tiles that were not only uneven but also chipped and would have to be ripped out completely to get fixed. There were also bowed walls/baseboard in the spare bedroom, a bow in the truss in the kitchen/living room area, and broken and cracked door frames, gaps in spaces where molding should have connected but instead were simply filled in with caulk. And these were just some of the issues – the we could see at least. We reached out to the realtor to let the builder know about the numerous issues. We were told several times that the builder would send the trim and tole contractors back out to the house to fix the issues. But just 2.5 weeks prior to closing, my realtor conducted another walkthrough and saw that none of the issues we brought up had been addressed and even more had gone wrong. Instead of acknowledging their shortcomings and making amends, the builder brazenly refused to address any of the concerns raised. I was presented with the ultimatum of either accepting the substandard workmanship or walking away from the deal altogether. I chose to walk away because the quality of work I could see was so terrible the home was not worth anywhere near what they were selling it for. It would have taken thousands of dollars to address the issues on my own. My experience with Nesmith Construction has been a harrowing ordeal characterized by poor quality workmanship, unfulfilled promises, and a complete lack of accountability. I would strongly advise anyone considering purchasing a home from this builder to proceed with extreme caution, as the risk of encountering similar issues is simply not worth it."

"We started having issues with our home 2-3 weeks after closing. Had problems with electrical breakers tripping often, rain water run off flowing into the garage, tile grout coming out, and water ponding in our back yard against the house. When contacting Nesmith they would blow it off as common Home ownership issues. They did send someone out to change some electrical breakers and to address the grout issue, but would never address the water runoff issues. They passed us off to the sub contractor that did the grading work. It was difficult to get a response on when he would come to look. When he finally did come, said he would be back the following Monday and fix. He didn’t show and quit responding to calls and text, even though the text would give a “read” Notification. After trying to get Nesmith involved again, they said they could try to reach the sub for me, but the water drainage issues were to be expected in the South. To be clear: water ponding against the house and flowing into the garage are issues we should just deal with because it’s the South. The fix for the grout coming out was caulk that matched the color of the grout. It showed hairline cracks after a couple of months. The electrical breaker issue would be fine for 2-3 months after changing a breaker, then back to tripping. We hired another electrician to look at it and he said the circuits had too much on them for a 15 amp breaker. Since the wire used was 15 amp, we had to have new wire run to some outlets to take some of the load off the 15 amp circuits. When all was done, we spent an additional $4k to fix the issues with my new home. The building process was fine, but Nesmith was done with their product once we closed."
